The moral value that Sinigang, written by Marie Aubrey J. Villaceran, taught me is faithfulness. Being faithful to your partner is one of the way for your relationship to get stronger, but once you get unfaithful, it’s not only your relationship with your partner will get damaged, also your relationship to those ones who trust you to be faithful forever.
There will be someone who will suffered from the wound in their heart that your unfaithfulness caused. The pain from their past might be a burden for them to have a good relationship with others. You’re not just only being faithful to your partner, you’re also being faithful to those ones who are the fruits of your love to each other.
“Don’t get stucked from the past, move forward”
As a 21st century learner, the impact that Sinigang gave me is astonishing. From the way of the author, Marie Aubrey J. Villaceran, convey the story and the moral values that readers like me can learn from this. Sinigang also reflecting some of people’s lives who raised by a single parent and having a one meal moment with their family that they’re wishing to happen again knowing that it will not be the same anymore.
“People forgive, but not forget”
The qoute is indeed true. How much we try our best, the pain from the past will still give us a sting on our hearts even though we already forgive the person who caused us that. The time will come that we will accept those people who gave us pain again, but getting rid of the walls the we build between us and them will take a longer time.
PowerPoint animation is a form of animation which uses Microsoft PowerPoint and similar programs to create a game or movie. The artwork is generally created using PowerPoint’s AutoShape features, and then animated slide-by-slide or by using Custom Animation.
Procedure
In this task, I need to compile all of my outputs from the previous activities, mail merge and excel functions, I’ve done.
First is I choose a layout of each slides. I chose the layout section header for the first slide, the title slide layout for next slides that will contain the titles of the outputs I compiled, and the blank layout for the outputs.
first slidea slide that contains a titlemail merge output
Next is choosing the animations I want to use for my presentation.
Reflection
In this activity, I realized that using microsoft presentation to present something is not only to share your ideas to others, but also to show your creative side that will draw their attentions.
A function is a predefined formula that performs calculations using specific values in a particular order. Excel includes many common functions that can be used to quickly find the sum, average, count, maximum value, and minimum value for a range of cells.
Procedure
This is the data that I encoded to my excel sheet and the tasks that I need to do are getting the line total, the total cost, the total items ordered, the most expensive item, and the most ordered item.
For me to get the line total, I need to multiply of each item to the quantity of it by using the formula =(column headings)*(row headings)
For the next task which is getting the total cost by adding all of the amounts in the line total. To get the sum of these, you just need to click the AutoSum on the home tab and let microsoft excel do the math for you.
In getting the total items ordered, use the formula =COUNT(<column headings and row headings>:<column headings and row headings>). Remember that the headings that your formula need are from the items you want to include in this section. In my case, I put =COUNT(B2:B11)
To get the cost of the most expensive item, use the formula =MAX(<cells that you want to find the largest number from>).
For the last task which is getting the most ordered item, it will base on the quantity of each item sold. Use the formula =MAX(<cells that you want to find the largest number from>)
Reflection
After doing this activity, I realized that learning these formulas can help me to do this kind of activity easier and consume less of my time.
Mailmerge is a handy feature that incorporates data from both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and allows you to create multiple documents at once, such as letters, saving you the time and effort of retyping the same letter over and over.
How to Mail Merge Using Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel?
In this letter, you will see some that some parts like the recepient name is missing and I’m planning to send this letter to ten persons, so instead of writing or typing this letter ten times, I will do mail merging.
In my microsoft excel, I typed the important details of the receivers of my letter: title, last and first name, barangay, municipality, province, and the zip code.
Back in the microsoft word, click the ‘mailings’, and you will see the ‘start mail merge’ area and there will be two available buttons, the start mail merge and select recepients buttons.
Click the select recepients button and there will be three options. But since this is my first time doing mail merge, I can’t choose the last option which is the choosing from outlook contacts. Choose the option that saying use an existing list because I have already the list of my receiver in my microsoft excel.
After choosing the file (microsoft excel) where my contacts were, there will be more options available in the mailings section.
You will noticed that the edit recipient list button is available now, click that.
In this part, you will choose if you want to send the letter to all contacts that in your list or there will be one or two people you don’t want to receive your letter. Since I will sent my letters to all of the people in my contact list, I checked them all.
Next is to highlight some parts that consists of your receiver’s important details.
By clicking the greeting line button, there will be options whether you will use ‘dear’ or ‘to’ or none. There are also options on how you want the name of your receiver appear in your letter, if it will be only your receiver’s last name or whole name or etc. And you can choose also if you want to put comma or not.
To be sure that my greeting line in every letter is good, I can see that from the preview of my recepient list button.
If there’s no other problems, click ok button.
In my letter, I want to add the other details of my receivers that I encode in my microsoft excel to the upper portion of my letter, just above to my greeting line.
Click the insert merge field button and click the details that you want to add.
For me, I added the first and last name, barangay, municipality, province, and the zip code of my recepients.
You can also use the address block button for this.
You will see a preview of this and check if you have some mistakes that made.
If there’s no problem, click the ok button.
After doing these steps, you can check again your every letter by clicking the preview button.
After checking, you can click the finish and merge button and choose between the three option there.
Reflection
I realized that enhancing ICT knowledge will really be helpful for us because with this, I will discover many important and helpful tools that will make it easy for me to do things like making letters that I need or want to sent to more than one receivers.
From the word ‘info’ which is information and graphic, it means sharing information about something using graphic materials.
Procedure
The infographic that I need to do should depict my views as a student on the current situation on Covid-19 and Education. Since I’m a student and trying my best to study what I need to study during this pandemic, I chose to share some informations about how students like me still learn in the midst of pandemic. I titled my infographic ‘Learning During Pandemic’.
First, I think of common things to all students of this school year, such as having online or modular class, studying by ourselves, using of our social medias like messenger and gmail to submit our performance taks, and following the home-learning plan.
I edited the graphics that I used in my infographic using this editing application, PicsArt.
After editing the graphics, I used canva to create my infographic. I insert the title, graphics, and brief description of each graphics.
Reflection
Upon doing this activity, I realized that sharing of informations about certain issues can be more creative by creating infographics like this.
Good day! My name’s Jean Ferlyn Quirante Pacabis. I’m 16 years old and a Humanities and Social Sciences’ student of Isabel National High School.
What do you love? What do you most proud of?
My answer would be different if I got to ask with the question, “What do you love? What do you most proud of?”, years ago but since I’m getting ‘there’, I’m happy to answer that I love being me and I’m proud being me.
When are you at your best as a person? As a student? As a friend? As a brother/sister?
my family
I failed many times as a student, as a friend, as a sister…as a person, but I could also say that I’m at my best when I’m with them. Whoever I am, as long as I’m with them, I’m at my best because they always think that I’m the best even when I’m at my worst.
I always try my best to respond wisely to every challenges I’m facing. I don’t want to hurt other people on the process because I believe that you won’t feel the genuine happiness when you achieved things you’re dreaming for after dragging others down.
What do you need from me to be successful this year?
Being successful will be always because of your own hardwork, willingness, and eager to achieve those dreams you have. There are people who can and will help you on your way, but the only thing I will need from you to be successful this year ,or the next years, is your trust that I will be successful someday.
Understanding will not end when you’re done proccessing the given information to you through your mind. You can’t say that you understand something…or someone until you get to wore the shoes they wore or wearing.
I’ve always thinking that I need to go to school, follow the rules, and study eight different subjects for hours to have a paid-well profession when I grow up, but I realized later on that it’s more than that…it should be more than that. Schools have their rules that students ought to follow, but sometimes those rules limit us, students, to do more. As a student who experienced being suffocated because of the ‘some’ rules, I wish that school guide me on my journey, not control me.
When I was a kid, I thought it’ll be easier to be happy when I become old because I will able to do some things I can’t do that time. But upon growing up, I realized that it’s the another way around. I regretted it many times that I didn’t spent those times wisely, but I realized that if I can’t be genuinely happy as I was before, I can still put smiles to other people’s lips. I don’t have enough knowledge about the field I want to enter, but I’m more than willing to learn more just to see smiles of the people who will make me feel the happiness that I felt when I was a child.
Are you a picky reader? What are your strength as a reader?
Yes, I’m a picky reader. As for my strength as a reader, I could say that it’s my ability to read the book I’m reading not just by my eyes but also by my heart.
My heroes are always be them. Without them, I’m not who I am and who I will be. They saved and continue saving me whenever I’m in the darkest place I always want to escape from. They are the ones who I know that will never turn their backs against me and that’s makes them my heroes.
What do you want to learn this year? What are you curious about? What can a person do with curiosity?
This year gave people so much fear, stress, pain, and realizations. I want to know how they manage to cope up despite the hardships they’re experiencing in this times of the pandemic. I’ve been always curious on how others continue fighting with their different battles, and the only thing that a person can do with their curiosity is to feed it but also sets limitations.
When are you most creative? Why do you think that might be?
Stand Out; Don’t Blend In
a nugget from An Enemy Called Average by John L. Mason
When I’m being me. I think that I’m creative when I’m being me because I always want to be unique…to stand out in the crowd, but still without overshadowing others.
What do you want me to know about you? What should I be asking you but I’m not?
I want you to know about how do I look like whenever I cry. I used to cry secretly and silently…alone. I want you to ask me how do I cry and my answer will be, “Be with me whenever I cry then”.
Describe your life as a student before the pandemic, during the pandemic, and your life be after the pandemic
My life as a student back then was normal. The stress I feel was just normal…everything was normal, but being a student in the midst of this pandemic tripled that stress…and the fear. If there’s one good thing this pandemic caused to many people, that is strengthen their faith. Not only to God, but also to themselves. This pandemic made me realized that I have so much eager to achieve my dreams than I thought and that will make me work harder as a student for the next years.
Do you think you’re a good student? A good learner? Is there a difference?
Yes, there’s a difference between a student and a learner, and I could say that I’m an imperfect student and not a good learner ‘yet’. A student can call a good student whether he like or don’t like to learn, while a learner will never can call a good learner if he’s not willing to put everything he learns inside to his heart.
Cooking can sometimes feel like a chore at the end of a busy day. It’s often tempting to throw a ready meal in the oven or call for take out. But preparing a simple and healthy family meal doesn’t have to be hard or time-consuming. Here are some quick wholesome dishes that you and your family will love. They can even be prepared in advance.
I know, what could be better that a steaming plate of fries, gravy and cheese curd? Fries, gravy, cheese curd and bacon, that’s what! Throw in some fresh shallots, chilli, and a splash of roasted bone marrow and duck gravy, and we turn this popular French-Canadian dish into a something sublime.
During the week we’re often walking out the door with a coffee in one hand and slice of toast in the other, but on weekends breakfast is never rushed. It’s a late affair, sometimes spilling over to lunch, with lots of reading and chatter in between courses of fruits, poached eggs, honey and toast. One of our favorite things we like to serve when friends are visiting are buckwheat blueberry pancakes.
There’s nothing better than a warm bowl of pumpkin soup on a cold autumn day. Combine your roasted pumpkin with some onion, garlic, vegetable broth, and a few spices, and give it some time to simmer away. Pair it with a few slices of fresh bread to turn it into something sublime.
